weddings at the spruceton inn
Rustic. Chic. FUN. Come get your celebration on!
Congrats!! Thank you so much for thinking of us for your Catskills wedding. We’ve hosted over forty weddings here at the Inn these past ten years. Hopefully we’ll host yours too!
And this should go without saying but we'll say it loud and clear anyway: ANYONE AND EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO GET MARRIED HERE!
HOW WE PARTY:
We host between three and four weddings per year maximum. We love being a hotel first and foremost and can best serve our wedding couples when there are only this many.
We have weekends available June through September, excluding holidays.
When you book the Inn for a wedding, you are booking private access to our eight acre property from 9am Friday through 3pm Sunday. (Though yes, we can absolutely host Sat/Sun weekends for Sunday ceremonies too, no prob!)
We have a maximum capacity of 100 guests for ceremonies and celebrations. (Kids under 2 don’t count in the final headcount.)
We have 9 rooms on site; 6 Kitchenettes and 3 Standards which you can see more about here. Each room has just one queen size bed, though we also have two twin size cots we can roll in one at a time to any room. This means our normal overnight capacity is 18, maximum is 20. There is a two night minimum. Your wedding package can either include all of the rooms for two nights OR rooms can be paid for by the individual guests as they book for a rate of $269 per night.
There are plenty of other local hotels and short-term rentals to house your other guests within a fifteen to twenty-five minute drive of the Inn. We'll be happy to point you in their direction. Sorry to say there is unfortunately no camping allowed on site.
Room One, our Front Desk & Bar, serves complimentary coffee (and Pop-Tarts!) from 8:30-10:30am Sat & Sun mornings and has bar service from 5-8pm Fri & Sat. We can tweak our hours to the specific schedule of your wedding festivities as needed. We are only able to offer coffee and bar service to overnight guests of the hotel plus a few more folks. For a Friday night welcome reception of 30 people or less, we can arrange a cash or open bar, however we are unable to provide catering. You are welcome to have a DIY cook-out on the grills, bring along local take-out, or have the event catered (including with a food truck!). If you’re looking to host a Friday night welcome reception for more than 30 folks, we highly recommend having it catered by the same company who will do your reception OR going out somewhere nearby like West Kill Brewing right next door or a local restaurant that serves large groups such as Peekamoose.
Our restored post and beam barn was built in the 1860s the old fashioned Dutch way with hand hewn hemlock beams, and pegs and posts instead of nails. It’s 1200 square feet (30' x 40') with a 400 square foot patio that looks out on West Kill Mountain, and has a 16 foot-long outdoor bar with interior prep space that includes a three-part dish washing sink, a hand washing sink, as well as two bathrooms, and an outdoor caterers area (20' x 10' area with electricity and water hook up). There are dimmable sconces and overhead lights as well as string lights inside, plus string lights on the patio. Max capacity of 100, but if you want people seated it’s more like 85-90.
The barn is NOT furnished, so you will want to rent your own tables and chairs etc to suit your exact needs and style. We do not provide outdoor ceremony chairs either, although there are 7 picnic tables and 12 lounge chairs you are welcome to move about the property wherever you'd like. There are several rental options in the area. We recommend Events Unlimited, Columbia Tent, and Big Top, all local, all great.
You are welcome to rent tents for additional sun/rain coverage.
Amplified music must end by 10pm and festivities in general should begin winding down then. Everyone (including caterers and anyone cleaning up) must be entirely out of the barn by 11pm. Sorry, it's our town's rule and we like to be good neighbors! And trust us, when the fun starts at 3 or 4pm, 10pm feels well past midnight way out here in the country! Overnight guests plus a handful of others are welcome to enjoy the rest of the grounds as late into the night as they'd like as long as they do not pose a disturbance to the neighborhood. We are happy to set up an after party bonfire for you as well.
We DO NOT require that you work with any vendors in particular, but here are some of our personal faves: Main Course Caterers (who also provide amazing day-of coordinating!), Phoenicia Diner, Amy's Takeaway, Provisions, Catskills Catering, West Kill Brewing (for beer made right next door!), Bread Alone Bakery (cakes and small scale catering), Molly J. Marquand (flowers), Hops Petunia (flowers), Events Unlimited (tents, furniture, dish rentals etc), Big Top (tents, furniture, dish rental etc), Columbia Tent (tents, furniture, dish rental etc), Love, Laura Wedding Planning, Catskills Concierge planning and coordination, First Student Charter Buses, Story & Gold Photography, Love Me Do Photography, Forged In the North Photography, Map and Compass Photography, The Fox and The Hare Photography, Mr.Ok Wedding Rings. (Unfortunately we are not a restaurant, so we cannot offer any dining/catering options for your guests.)
Parking is available on site for up to 40 cars. Bus drop offs are welcome and especially encouraged for large groups.
Event insurance is required. We can put you in touch with a local insurance agent who can help you take care of it. Most folks' premiums wind up being between $250-$500 depending on what exactly gets covered.
Proper event liquor license is required for booze. Most caterers will have their own. We can also put you in touch with a local lawyer who can take care of it for you for around $250.
Yes, sometimes we can host a midweek elopement or small celebration too! Just fill out the form below and specify that’s what you’re interested in.
